Winkworth Arboretum

Winkworth Arboretum

Printed paper Voucher Required

Winkworth Arboretum was created in the early 20th Century by Dr Wilfrid Fox, a local doctor with a passion for preserving the wooded hillside near his home. Winkworth is perfect for visiting any time of the year as the landscape changes with the seasons. In spring magnolia, bluebells and azaleas bloom, and in autumn the trees provide a vibrant colour display. Summer visits are perfect for picnics, while winter sees frost cover the landscape of the arboretum. Dogs on leads are welcome all year round.

Walking the arboretum.
Nestled on a hillside in the heart of the Surrey Hills AONB, Winkworth Arboretum is the perfect spot for a walk to refresh your senses. With a mixture of level walkways and challenging hills, there's a route for everyone.

Come out and play.
Winkworth is a great outdoor space in which children can explore nature. Our Tree Adventure area is perfect for children to be active, with a fireman’s pole, rope tunnel and mini climbing wall. Throughout the year, there are trails and activities to enjoy.

Visit the tearoom.
There's plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a drink and snack from the Arbor tearoom. At weekends and holidays, there is also a coffee Tuk-Tuk and ice cream hut next to the tearoom to serve the outdoor seating area with hot and cold drinks and ice creams.

Dogs welcome.
Winkworth has a three-paw rating. These places have water bowls and dog-friendly walks. You’ll be able to take your dog anywhere in the arboretum, but please keep them on a lead.

* The nearest rail station is Godalming. The stop for the No42 bus (Monday - Saturday only) is a short walk from the Station.
