If you buy an Advance train ticket, you must travel on the date, time and service shown. Do you need to change the date or time you set off? No problem, you can change your departure times. You just need to pay any difference in fare plus an administration fee.

Don’t forget, Advance rail tickets are non-refundable, so make sure your trip is going ahead before you book.

How far in advance can I book?

The earlier you book, the more likely it is that you'll snap up a cheaper ticket. There will be reduced availability on some routes 4 weeks before travel, however Advance tickets can be available up to 6pm the night before you travel so it is always worth checking.
