Shepreth Wildlife Park

Printed paper Voucher Required

Willers Mill Wild Animal Sanctuary opened to the public in 1984 as a refuge for injured and orphaned animals. Since then Shepreth Wildlife Park has become one of East Anglia’s major attractions participating in European Endangered Breeding Programmes (EEP) to help conserve species in the wild. It is committed to global conservation and has been raising awareness for a variety of in-situ projects since 2002, raising over £600,000 for conservation projects worldwide working alongside Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity.

As members of BIAZA (British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquaria) and EAZA (European Association of Zoos & Aquaria), the wildlife park is progressively and actively committed to its animals and conservation, as well as educating the next generation of conservationists. It hosts a multi award-winning educational facility offering on-site services to both schools and visitors, with students from all over the world using the the site for research and work experience.

The park is also paving the way as a local champion in Green Tourism, having been credited with the GoldStar Award for its environmental awareness and practices. Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity was founded by the wildlife park in 2011, and in addition to raising funds for conservation projects across the globe, it also hosts the SWCC Hedgehog Hospital, formally hosted by the wildlife park. This project has rescued and re-habilitated over 5000 hedgehogs since opening.
